SmartPak Receives Vet-VIPPS Certification

SmartPak Becomes Only the Fifth Veterinary Pharmacy in the U.S. to Achieve the Certification.

NRHA Corporate Partner SmartPak, the nation’s largest direct marketer of equestrian products, was recently awarded the Veterinary Verified Internet Pharmacy Practice Sites (Vet-VIPPS) certification from the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP). SmartPak is only the fifth veterinary pharmacy to receive Vet-VIPPS certification, and was awarded certification after the NABP’s in-depth review of SmartPak’s policies, procedures, and facilities.  The rigorous certification process can often take well over a year to complete.

“Our pharmacy team takes great pride in delivering outstanding value and service to our customers, and refusing to cut corners as so many internet pharmacies do.  We applaud the NABP for offering this program to help consumers to buy on the internet with confidence,” said Paal Gisholt, SmartPak’s CEO.  According to the NABP, “Pharmacies displaying the Vet-VIPPS Seal comply with Vet-VIPPS criteria, which address a customer’s right to privacy, authentication and security of prescription orders, adherence to a recognized quality assurance policy, and provision of meaningful consultation between customers and pharmacists.”

Several states like North Carolina and New Hampshire now require Vet-VIPPS certification before a pharmacy can be licensed to ship to customers in that state.  The SmartPak Pharmacy is currently licensed to serve customers in all 50 states which is now possible only with the Vet-VIPPS certification.  In addition to providing packaged products like Adequan, Legend and Heartgard, SmartPak improves compliance with daily medications by providing prescription medications like Isoxsuprine as well as daily supplements in custom daily dose SmartPaks™ shipped automatically every four weeks.

To order medications, customers simply have their vet call the SmartPak pharmacy at 1-800-431-4194 or mail the veterinarian’s prescription to:  SmartPak Pharmacy, 40 Grissom Road, Suite 500, Plymouth, MA 02360.

For more information about the SmartPak Pharmacy, visit the SmartPak website at www.SmartPak.com or call 800-461-8898.
