From Arenus – St. Charles, MO – July 12, 2012 - What do Open and Non Pro NRHA Derby champions Shawn Flarida, J. Harper Conner, Jose Vazquez, and Sean McBurney have in common? A winning formula for success that includes Arenus products ASSURE®Guard and SORE NO-MORE®.
Jose Vazquez, who won the Non Pro Derby Level 4 with Moonshine Juice, and placed Slj Ruf Juice sixth in the same derby, observed, “We went to the NRBC and won. We went to the Derby and won. What could be better than that?” Reiners using Arenus products won or finished near the top of all four levels of Open and Non Pro Finals at the 2012 National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Derby Show, June 24-30, at the State Fair Arena, Oklahoma City, OK.
In addition to winning the Open Derby Level 4, Shawn Flarida earned two of the top five scores of the Derby Show, topping the leader board with the 226.5 win in Level 4 on Michell Kimball’s Spooks Gotta Whiz, and scoring 225.0, on Gus and Gaynia Revenberg’s Quistador, to also finish fifth. Shawn says, “My horses depend on good digestion. That’s the reason I use the ASSURE Guard System. When my horses get to the show, they’re ready to go. I’m not worried about my horses having ulcers because they’re comfortable, they have energy, they are focused and they are feeling they’re best.” And Spooks Gotta Whiz was definitely feeling his best. CinderLakesRanch.com reported ”The crowd roared from the moment Spooks Gotta Whiz ran into the arena for his crack at pattern 10. They were not disappointed.” For a video of Shawn’s winning run, go to http://cinderlakesranch.com/horses.

Heikes on Denise Bixler’s Lil Gun Dunit, eighth-place Robin Schoeller on Miz Wisconsin for B. Elizabeth Himes, and tenth-place Brent Naylor on Reining Whiz for BNE Syndicate, LLC. Praising Mc Burney, NRHA.com said: “Sean guided Chics Loaded Gun to a score of 220.5 to top the Level 3 Open division. They also earned finalist honors in the Level 4 Open division and nearly $30,000.”

Arenus was represented in the ribbons in every Open Derby Level, thanks to Schoeller, who was fourth on Miz Wizconsin in Level 2, and Roy Van Der Hoeven, fifth in Level 1 on SI Lenas Starlight for Sweet Lake Land & Oil Co., LLC, and an assistant for Gabe Hutchins. Rounding out an elite cast of Open finalists were Todd Sommers and Mike McEntire.
ASSURE Guard and SORE NO-MORE users also proved unstoppable in the Non Pros, with J. Harper Conner winning the Level 1 and 2 Finals, and placing fourth in Level 3, with Conner Petra Zeitler’s Sparkling Bells.
Also counting on Arenus in the arena was Heather Johnson, third in the Novice Horse Open Level 1, on Stephanie Edman’s Surprizen The Chicks, and Morris H. Kulmer’s Dreamy Little Sailor, who won the 7 & UP Level 4 Open ridden by Andrea Fappani.
