The National Reining Horse Association has announced an application deadline for candidates interested in the NRHA Executive Director position: November 22, 2012.
In addition, the NRHA Board of Directors has approved new policy for NRHA employees who wish to exhibit or officiate at NRHA events, or wish to own horses competing and NRHA events. The policy reads as follows: NRHA Employees are allowed to own horses competing at any NRHA Events. Any NRHA Employee intending to own horses competing at NRHA Events should fully disclose in writing to the NRHA Executive Committee. NRHA Employees are allowed to compete at NRHA Events, with the exception of NRHA – Owned Events. (i.e. NRHA Futurity, NRHA Derby, NRHA Cowtown, NRHA European Futurity, NRHA European Derby). Any NRHA Employee intending to show should fully disclose in writing to the NRHA Executive Committee. NRHA Employees are not allowed to Judge or Steward NRHA Events.
In addition to many other attributes, the Executive Director must have the ability to understand NRHA’s business plan, support its progress and help drive its success. The ideal candidate must understand the role of not-for-profits and the function of executive committees, board of directors, committees and task forces.
