Anna Lisec and This Wimps So Fly lead the NRHA European Derby Non Pro Qualifier

Lyon, November 2 – Equita Lyon is host to the seventh edition of the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) European Derby. Open to 4, 5, 6 and 7-year-old horses enrolled in the NRHA European Nomination Program, the Open and Non Pro Derby is run in a qualifier and clean slate finals and follows the single purse system.

Today, the NRHA European Non Pro Derby go round, counting 75 entries, saw Anna Lisec and This Wimps So Fly (Wimpys Little Step x Fly Flashy Jac), owned by Sabine Lisec, claim a 218.5 to lead the go round. “Fly is Fly and he is simply amazing,” said the young rider from Austria who has been riding the flashy palomino – who boasts over $51,000 LTE – since 2014 and has won multiple titles on him.

“I am really happy to have also qualified my other horse, Start A Revolution, for the finals, even though we had a couple of bobbles,” Lisec added about her mount by Einsteins Revolution out of Plenty Of Rest owned by Sabine Lisec and Chuck Klipfel.

A half a point behind, Edoardo Bernardelli of Italy rode his Wimpys Little Chees (Wimpys Little Step x Tuck Oak Enterprise) to the second highest score of the day.

The NRHA European Non Pro Derby finals will see 35 horse-rider combinations perform in the Equita Lyon reining arena vying for the title on Sunday, November 5. Admission is free.

The NRHA France 3-year-old Futurity

NRHA Professional Tomas Martinek and Colonels J Lo (Colonels Shining Gun x One Way Away), owned by Wolfgang Hammer, took the NRHA French Futurity Level 4 Open Championship today with a score of 218. NRHA Professional Cira Baeck and Gunna Spark N Shine (Gunnatrashya x Trash Me If U Can), owned by CS Ranch Management SA, took reserve honors with a 216.5 score.

Earning the NRHA France Level 2 Open Futurity title was NRHA Professional Stefano Ferri of Italy riding Gun N Enterprise (Pale Face Dunnit x Poco Lena Enterprise) for owner Sabine Ehrenreich. NRHA Professional Bastien Bourgeois and ND Montenisa Spat (Spat O Lena x Lil Ruf Cee Blair), owned by Aude Gruber, took the reserve championship with a 214.

Reining Action: The 2017 Reining International de Lyon

On Friday November 3, Europe’s best non professionals and their mounts will take the stage in the $15,000-added NRHA Reining International de Lyon Non Pro. Once again, Equita Lyon will be fundamental in determining who will take home the 2017 NRHA Non Pro World Championship.

Fifteen of Europe’s top professionals will be riding for first place honors in the $35,000-added NRHA Reining International de Lyon Open which will entertain the public on Sunday November 3. The fight is on for the 2017 NRHA Open World Championship between the Europe’s only two NRHA Million Dollar Riders: Bernard Fonck of Belgium and Rudi Kronsteiner of Germany. In the past editions, the two classes have determined more than one NRHA World Champion.
