NRHA Staff Update: Promotions and New Employees

The National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) is continuing to expand Reining Horse Sports Foundation (RHSF), youth, affiliate, marketing and sponsorship programs, as well as advancing its technology systems. To continue with this forward momentum, NRHA is proud to announce two in-house promotions and three new hires. In-house promotions include Shianne Megel and Jamie Boller with Christina Brezack, Dan Dobbs and Brian Richardson joining the family at NRHA as new hires.

 


Shianne Megel was promoted to Manager of RHSF & NRHA Youth Programs. The Seibert, Colo. native was previously Supervisor of RHSF & NRHA Youth Programs. Before her employment at NRHA, Megel worked for the Oklahoma AgrAbility Project as Outreach & Communications Assistant, Texas Beef Council as Consumer Marketing Specialist and Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum as Administrative Assistant. She has contributed to the agriculture industry as a member for Great Plains Ag Credit Board, a university representative for Ag Workers Mutual Insurance and a member for the Texas A&M System Chancellors Student Advisory Board. Prior to graduating from West Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Education and Leadership, she served her home state as a State FFA and 4-H officer.

Adding to her responsibility, Jamie Boller is now serving as Affiliate Programs Coordinator & Show Department Representative. Having started at NRHA in May of 2010, Boller is quickly adding to her duties such as handling the Apprentice Program, non pro declarations and non pro relinquishments. She also now serves as the Affiliate Committee Liaison and all show results and stalling for the NRHA Futurity, Derby and Cowtown Classic are among her obligations. The Blanchard, Okla. native previously served as Oklahoma Appaloosa Horse Club President for five years and in 2006 was the president of the Appaloosa Youth Association. Boller received her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Oklahoma State University.


Omaha, Neb. native Christina Brezack has joined the team as Marketing & Sponsorship Coordinator. Brezack has acquired knowledge in various areas of equine and agriculture activities working for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension as the Equine Intern for several years. She also held several officer positions within the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Rodeo Association including treasurer, secretary, Public Relations Chair and Sponsorship Chair. Prior to being employed by NRHA, Brezack found her love of Reining through college horse judging classes and an Equine Study Tour that included the NRHA office. Brezack graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science with an emphasis in Equine Science.


Dan Dobbs was added to the Information Technology team at NRHA as a Programmer Analyst/DBA/Team Lead. He was hired to implement new development methodologies, lend support to existing technology and apply new, advance strategies to improve NRHA’s business processes.  With 17 years of I.T. experience, Dobbs’ involvement includes nine years of consulting services and development experience, five years of development team lead experience and two years of project management experience. Dobbs graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1993 with an associate degree in Applied Science- Mainframe and Micro Computer Information Systems.

 


Also added to the Information Technology team at NRHA is Brian Richardson as a Programmer Analyst/DBA. He also was hired to help support existing technology, as well as to implement new, innovative strategies for improving NRHA business processes. From 2005 onward, he contracted as a software engineer for a variety of small to large-scale businesses in the oil and natural gas, telecommunications and online banking industries. Some of these companies include Devon, Alkami Technology and Boble Systems. His responsibilities were to help develop and maintain new and existing software systems using current technologies. Richardson graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
