Flat Hat Rags, a vendor at the National Reining Horse Association Futurity and Adequan® North American Affiliate Championships, has joined with Warren Performance Horses and other anonymous donors to design and manufacture t-shirts and hoodies in honor of the late Guy Vernon.
Guy Vernon was a former NRHA Board member who was active on numerous committees, an NRHA judge, and a dedicated horseman. When he died suddenly in April 2022, he left behind a daughter, Lacey, and his wife, Valerie, who is battling cancer.
“Every single purchase, the proceeds go to benefit Valerie,” said Amanda Taylor, the owner of Flat Hat Rags. “We also are taking donations, so if you want to stop by our booth, we can definitely get you hooked up with some ‘Ride for Guy’ merchandise.”
The hoodies and T-shirts say “Ride For Guy” and feature the silhouette of a reiner as well as the Bible verse, Psalm 118:24. All of the proceeds will go directly to assisting Valerie Vernon with medical and cost-of-living expenses as she continues to undergo chemotherapy.
To purchase merchandise or make a donation, visit the Flat Hat Rags boots on the south side of Barn 3 at the OKC Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City.
